• Pandora's Collective:   Based in Vancouver, B.C. Pandora's Collective keeps their finger on the pulse of all literary events in the Lower Mainland. They list local writer's groups and writing workshops in addition to open mic events, poetry readings around Vancouver, and local book launch dates. This is a great site for listings in and around Vancouver.
• poetry.com:   One of the most popular internet sites features annual poetry contests with some prizes worth thousands. They also have an online rhyming dictionary, a list of poetic techniques to improve writing and details on how to self-publish your own book of poetry.
• poets.org:   The official website associated with the Academy of American Poets features serious and historically important American poets. A wealth of information is presented: for example, reading recommendations by America's top poets, dozens of essays on writing by the world's greatest poets, an excellent audio archive by the who's who of 20th century poetry, and excellent resources for educators of poetry. Highly recommended.
• poetryfoundation.org The website for the monthly Poetry Magazine, publishes work by serious, emerging poets as well as established writers. The website works hand-in-glove with the paper and every month features poems that appear in that month's issue. In addition, they also review books and reprint essays on writing, interviews and archived articles that appeared in the magazine over the past 96 years (founded in 1912). Again well worth visiting.
